The book discusses the globally renowned biologist and influential member of the American Academy of Sciences Lynn Margulis, who talks in one of her lectures about how a new genetic mutation does not produce a new species of living organisms, but rather produces modified generations of living organisms, as the scientist explained in greater detail in an interview conducted with her. New Darwinians say that the occurrence of new genetic mutations means the emergence of new life forms or beneficial mutations in life forms. I have been taught and convinced for many years of my life that the accumulation of random genetic mutations leads to beneficial changes and the emergence of new species, until I saw that scientific evidence refutes this claim.
